A downloadable tool

About this project

Over on my Twitch Page, I do a series of game development streams on Wednesdays. These are very basic, and aim to show off some of the things you can do to help make games using various tools. Currently, I am only looking at Twine, but I may move on from that later on.

Each week, I will try to make both the twine story file and the resulting game file available so people can play around with them. These will be completely free, usually very simple things show casing a particular mechanic or trick. Each stream will also be available on youtube for people who aren't able to catch the streams.

About Twine

Twine is an open-source tool for telling interactive, nonlinear stories. It can be found here: http://twinery.org/

To open the games produced in twine, just open them in a browser (other than Edge).

To open the Twine Story files, which are also HTML files, save them in the stories subdirectory in your Twine folder (usually found in your documents), and then open them in the Twine editor available at the link above.

Current Work

Week 1.) We look at the absolute basics of Twine programming, and use it to create a simple rock paper scissors game based around a popular gaming series. We go through a couple of the very basics; making links, setting variables, using if functions, and using the either macro, using them to put together a Pokemon themed rock-paper-scissors game. The recording of session 1 is available on youtube.
